Golden Knights Set Sights on Another Postseason Run Last year, the Clarkson Golden Knights’ hopes of an ECAC Hockey Championship would come to an end in Triple Overtime, as Cornell’s Lily Delianedis would score the game-winning power-play goal to eliminate the Knights from the ECAC Hockey Tournament. Clarkson would get an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, but ultimately lose to Wisconsin in the second round following a decisive win over Boston University. After two heartbreaking losses in the playoffs, Clarkson’s season ended without a trophy. Over the summer, Clarkson would graduate twelve players, including star blueliners Nicole Gosling and Haley Winn, and would lose seven players to the transfer portal, including some regulars in the lineup like Jessica MacKinnon and Rebecca Morissette. This year, Clarkson will return eleven players: Sena Catterall, Rhea Hicks, Kiera Hurry, and Holly Gruber. These players will add experience to the lineup but must adjust to playing with new f...

Clarkson's Season Ends with Pride and Promise for the Future

Clarkson’s memorable season came to a close two weeks ago, falling 3-1 to Cornell in the ECAC Hockey Championship. The loss marked the end of the Golden Knights' most successful campaign record-wise since the 2019-20 season. Despite a strong showing throughout the year, a crowded national field and a few costly losses to lower-ranked teams meant that Clarkson's only shot at an NCAA Tournament berth was through the ECAC’s automatic bid ultimately claimed by Cornell. Still, there’s plenty for the program to be proud of. The Knights were home to a roster of standouts, including ECAC Goalie of the Year Ethan Langenegger, Defensive Defenseman of the Year Trey Taylor, Coach of the Year J.F. Houle, and Player of the Year Ayrton Martino. Both Martino and Taylor recently signed two-year entry-level contracts with the Dallas Stars, with Taylor electing to forgo his final season at Clarkson to begin his pro career. “I’m just really proud of this group,” said captain Ry...

The Knights face Harvard in a 3 Game Series

Clarkson Men's Hockey will host the Harvard Crimson for a Three-Game Series from March 14 to 16 at Cheel Arena in Potsdam, New York. The Clarkson Golden Knights secured the second seed in the ECAC Hockey Tournament, finishing with a record of 15-6-1 in conference play. The Top Four seeds in the ECAC get a First-Round Bye, which gave Clarkson last week off. Harvard finished with the seventh seed in the ECAC with a record of 9-10-3. The middle four teams in the ECAC host the first round. Harvard would host RPI in a single game at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Harvard would beat RPI in a 5-2 win that would mark the end of the Dave Smith era at RPI, with Dave being fired on Monday after eight years. Both Harvard and Clarkson need to win the ECAC Hockey Championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The ECAC is looking likely to be a one-bid league this year.      Clarkson has eclipsed the 20-win mark for the first time since the 202...
